The Heartbreak That Led to a Breakthrough: How I Found My Confidence on Reality TV
Heartbreaks are never easy, but going through one on a reality tv show can be particularly challenging. At first, I was devastated. I had invested so much time and energy into our relationship, only to be left confused and humiliated in front of a national audience!! However, as the show went on, I realized that this experience was actually going to be the perfect catalyst for a major turning point in my life.
At first, I was understandably upset about my Hall’s behavior. I mean, it's never easy to feel betrayed and blindsided, and the fact that it happened so quickly into the taping of the show (and on a showwww!!) made it all the more difficult to deal with. But, as I began to process my emotions, I realized that I had been neglecting my own needs in the relationship the entire time! I realized WHY I even wanted to be a part of the show in the first place… to find my voice and confidence.
I had been so focused on trying to make my fiance happy, build the business, and check all the boxes in my life, that I had lost sight of what was actually important to me… ME.
I began to think about what I really wanted. I started to realize all the things that I had neglected while I was in the relationship, and I started saying "yes” to opportunities that scared me...like DATING!!! It wasn't always easy, but I found that the more I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, the more confident and empowered I felt.
One of the things that helped me the most during this time was the support of my girlfriends, new and old. They reminded me that I was worthy of love and respect, and that I didn't need a man to feel complete. They’re also super supportive and fun, which was exactly what I needed! Their encouragement gave me the strength to keep moving forward, even when I felt like giving up.
Looking back on my experience, I realize that going through a heartbreak on reality TV was actually a blessing in disguise. It forced me to confront my own insecurities and take ownership of my life and my happiness. While it was painful at the time, I now see that it was a necessary step on my journey to becoming a more confident and self-assured version of myself. So if you're going through a breakup or a difficult time in your life, remember that it's not the end of the story. With time and perseverance (and maybe some hot singles), you can turn your pain into power and come out stronger on the other side.
